Character: Azrael
An Arcane mage. Appears as a middle-aged woman with white hair, typically dresses all in white. Over eight hundred years old, at least.
Leader of an Arcana sect called the Firmament, who devised and maintained the Czech society of gargoyles for use as a power battery in the expected war against the System. If either the System or the other members of the Arcana discover this, it would likely precipitate that war, so after Veronica killed her husband (a gifted tracker) in her escape, Azrael pursues the girls to prevent global magical armageddon.
Her magical skills are based around her awareness and insight. Named for the angel of death–or Gargamel's cat, depending on who you ask.

Twilight Detective Agency: Girls Out tells the story of Veronica and Maeve, two gargoyles who grew up in a xenophobic, insular society of gargoyles living inside a mountain in the Czech Republic, cowering in fear of discovery by the mages who created their race.
Together the two flee around the world, pursued by various factions and hoping to free their people!
