Veronica always cheerfully walked on the dark side, an unrepentant killer. When her gargoyle community sentenced her for her crimes, she fled into the human world with her sister Maeve. Now, pursued by the wizards who are enslaving their people, the two women are on an adventure across Canada, meeting monsters and finding allies to help in the oncoming magical war of evil versus evil.
